Krucial Conceptz got the chance to be one on one with S.Starr
and ask some interesting questions to get inside this
Superstars head! He has passion for his music and a way with words.
We see him going to some BIG places very soon!

The Name, S Starr, where did it come from?
Well the name S.STARR comes from my childhood. When I was growing up I was good at sports and my friends used to call me SUPASTARR, which I also got tatto'd on my arm at 17 years old. I started using it as my stage name in the early stages but found out it was taken already so I shortened it to S.STARR.

When you were a little kid, what did you say you wanted to be when you grew up?
The funny thing is for years I never knew what I wanted to be when I became an adult but I always knew I would be a hard worker. My dad is an electrical engineer and I ended up following in his footsteps out of circumstance. In the back of my mind I knew I had a talent that would grow and shine; that ended up being my song writing ability.

When it comes to the whole aspect of the music industry, what gives you that drive to make music & want to pursure further?
I've always been a fan of HIPHOP since I was a child and I always felt like there was a place for me in the industry. Everyone seems to have a niche or particular swag and I know that I bring that heat everytime I make a record so I'm inspired by MY own drive and ambition to see myself take it to the next level.

What are some future projects you are working on right now?
Well my street album, "Dodgin' RainDropz" is out now for free and I am promoting that heavy as we speak. I'm working on another album entitled "Hypo-Critically Acclaimed" which should be droppin' by Spring time as well as several singles that I'll be releasing through ITUNES and other online ventures. I'm just trying to grind out crazy and get my buzz up.

You recently had a performance, how did that turn out for you?
I performed on Friday night January 6th at Bardot Heights in the West Village, NYC and the crowd was hyped! I had a great time and was able to get some new fans and keep my old fans entertained through the night. Fire.

What do you feel when you are on stage about to perform?
There is a small amount of nervousness that enters the mind but mostly its adrenaline and anxiety that takes over. My concern is always to put on a great show and keep the crowd amped and pumped up. I am a perfectionist and I always hope for the best and try to do my best.

Is there anything you do to get yourself ready daily about music?
As long as I have dope tracks to write to it's not that difficult to knock out a hot song but as I move forward in my music career I try different things. I used to only physically write in a notepad and now I've adopted using my iPhone to type my lyrics in so I can get bars in on the run. I'm also in the gym 5-6 days a week so that keeps me pumped and motivated to write and perform all the time.

Who are some producers and singers in the industry now that you would like to work with later on?
Thats a great question. Like I said before I have been a fan of HIPHOP for almost all my life so there are so many artists and producers I would love to work with or just meet in person. But just based on strictly work ethic I would love to work with Pharell from the NEPTUNES and Swizz Beats. Those two cats never seem to slow down and their creativity is amazing. I can only imagine how it would be to work with them. On the R&B front I think Melanie Fiona is off the chain! She can sing her ass off and her style is fly. I dig her.

What do you think is the best thing about being an artist?
I honestly think being an artist is overrated to some extent but I love the fact that no matter how good I think I am, there is always room to improve and get better. Regardless of record sales there are so many artists that continue to put out incredible music and that is a great aspect to being an artist.

What goals do you have for this coming year?
This year I plan to continue to put my best foot forward and put out dope material that the listeners will love and support. The cliche thing to say is that I want a record deal but I feel good being independent and working from the ground up. It's building my character and increasing my fanbase.

What are your top 3 songs on ya ipod?
Wow, so many right now!! One I gotta say is by me, and thats 'City on Firee' off my album, I love that track! Second I got that Young Jeezy joint 'SuperFreak' featuring the homey 2CHAINZ off that "TM103". That song is straight fire! Last that Lil' Wayne joint featuring Gucci Mane, 'Steady Mobbin'. That joint is just hard. Great workout songs.

Later on, if you were to win an award for your music, who would you thank?
God first and foremost, my parents, and my team RMG. Them dudes got me back into doing music when I had felt like giving it up.

Who were your greatest influences musically?
There's plenty and I continue to keep adding my influences but if I can name a few I will say, JAY-Z, NAS, BIGGIE, SCARFACE, BIG DADDY KANE, LL COOL J...I can keep going for days, lol.

Do you write your own music or do you have a team that you work with?
I always write my own music but when I do collaborative work with my team, we come up with concepts and break downs of the songs together.

What kind of impact do you hope your music will leave on fans & remember for years to come?
I certainly don't want to be a one hit wonder. I want to be known for my lyricism and song writing ability as well as my delivery and flow. I want to be known as not only a dope rapper but one of the hottest and best to have done it, period.

Is there any quote or saying, that you live by or you feel that inspires you?
I say a lot of catchy, funny things but something that I stick by is "HUSTLE+MUSCLE=S.STARR". I live by that slogan because it's all the way true. I work hard in everything I do.

In conclusion, i just gotta ask, describe yourself in 3 words.
